Kissdafunk is starting the new decade with a bang. Not only is it our 6th Birthday on 30th January, but it also marks our return to MISSION with the launch of a brand new Saturday - yes Saturday -monthly residency.
And if that's not enough SIDNEY SAMSON - the guy behind the sensational 'Riverside' track is headlining!
Phew! that's a lot of info to take in, so let's take it bit-by-bit.
KISSDAFUNK RETURNS TO MISSION
Yep, after 12 months away hosting big one-off events at the 02 Academy we're returning to Mission to recapture our end-of-month party vibe. The rebirth allows us to book and break some exciting new artists and try out some new ideas.
As KDF founder & resident Rob Tissera explains:
The three huge parties we held at 02 were immense but we missed the regularity and intimacy that our monthly Mission parties gave us. Coming home gives us chances to experiment with fresh artists and keeps us connected to our crowd. We've also got some bigger arena gigs in the pipeline for later in the year. 2010 is going to be a very busy indeed."
MOVING TO SATURDAYS
For the first time in KDF Leeds's six year history we're moving to Saturdays nights. No more rushing home from work to get glammed up, now you have more time to get ready to Kissdafunk on the biggest party night of the week.
"2010 makes the dawn of a new decade so it makes sense to makes some changes to KDF and what better way than moving to Saturday;" Says Co-founder Tolley.
"After its recent facelift the venue is looking better then ever so we're really looking forward to creating some cool Saturday night mayhem."
SIDNEY 'Riverside' SAMSON
Unless you've been living in a cave for the past few months you'll have heard Sidney's 'Riverside 'track which is currently gettting tonnes of dRadio play. This will be the Dutch Djs' first visit to both Leeds and KDF we we're really excited to welcome him. He'll hopefully following in the footsteps of David Guetta who played at our first Birthday and as since become a world megastar. Check out the video here.
