Frederik Lenaerts, aka FredNova, was born on November 3rd 1980 in Sint-Truiden, Belgium. Early inspired by electronic dance music, he bought his first compact discs in 1992 and started building an impressive collection. In the early years FredNova was a huge fan of the Belgian Bonzaï label when they conquered the world. In the mean time the Bonzaï rave sound evolved into a more melodic sound and under the influence of leading English dj's such as Sasha and Paul Oakenfold people started to call it Trance. In 1998, Trance knew an enormous increase of popularity and became raging popular in 1999. On one hand there still was Belgian Trance with leading artists like MIKE and Airwave, on the other hand Germany created a harder version of it. In The Netherlands the euphoric alternative arose. Dj's like Ferry Corsten, Tiësto and Armin van Buuren acquired fame all over the world.

At the end of 1998 FredNova decided to exchange his cd collection for vinyl. As from 1999 he weekly visits his favourite record store, exploring new music. In the year 2000 he organized together with a bunch of friends some parties and at that moment he became sure of one thing: he just wanted to spin records.

Years of practice passed by. Small parties and numerous demo tapes went by when he participated in 2004 in the Global Dj Broadcast Bedroom Dj Contest of Markus Schulz. Entirely unexpected he saw his name in the top 10 of this worldwide contest. New opportunities arose and several connections were made. During the same year he started his own radio shows on lazerhothits.com and a little later on etn.fm. Hundred of listeners follow his sets on these internet streams on a weekly base. In 2005 he succeeded again to reach the top 10 of a worldwide dj contest. This time the contest was organized by Dancetrippin.tv. In Belgium he even finished two times in the top 3 of dj contests. One of them was the BelgaDance Dj Contest. In the meantime Belgian and Dutch club promoters and party organizers noticed him. As we speak, he already performed in clubs as Illusion, Tropicana, Sottos, De Verleiding, The Factory and Atmoz and on events such as Sensation White (RedBull stage), Tomorrowland (1x RedBull, 2x Armada, 1x Vandit), Trancefusion, I Love Music, Batida Dance Night, MetroNight, BelgaDance, BeTA party and numerous Dj2Dj events. He also played as a resident in HvS and Cirque Central, two popular bars in his hometown Sint-Truiden. At the end of 2005 ID&T Belgium asked him to take care of all trance and progressive interviews and reviews for their ‘Release’ magazine and their website.

In 2006, after 7 years of pure pleasure behind the wheels of steel, FredNova decided to transmit his passion into his own productions. After some great gigs at the album release parties of Airwave and MIKE, Laurent (aka Airwave) offered him the opportunity to create a track together. Nova Brothers ‘Havana’ is his first track which was signed. The track has been released in November 2006 on Bonzaï's Progrez label. A dream came true. And in May 2007 a remix of FredNova and his partner in crime Jochen appeared on other Bonzaï imprint, Bonzaï Limited. Nowadays FredNova spends as much time as possible in the studio to bring his turntable arts to a higher level. Trance evolves continuously under the influence of Progressive, House and Electro. A perfect blend of all these musical styles can be the description of the style he wants to transmit to the people. As top of the bill, FredNova will perform during the summer of 2010 for the fifth time on a row at Belgium’s biggest outdoor festival: Tomorrowland! Yesterday is history, today is a gift, tomorrow is mystery!
